Ghana - Summer 2019

Project: Library Building

Project Overview

Project Dates: 15th June 2019 - 14th July 2019.

Project Location: Kewunor Village, Ghana

Project Type: Building/Teaching

Are you ready to build a library? The pupils at Maranatha Basic School have heard about the project and are super excited. They cannot wait to meet you all and get involved. They are so grateful that through the build of this library they can further develop their education and make good use of those brand new books purchased through everyone’s donations.

Project Details

We hope you’re all ready to mix cement, shovel sand, fetch water, layer bricks and work extremely hard to give these kids a chance at a future.

The teachers at Maranatha School are more than happy to allow volunteers to teach at the school a range of subjects and sports, but the build of the library will be the sole focus of the project. Although we are going to be working 5 days a week with kids around us and involved in the build, at Maranatha Beach camp every Saturday night is a Bonfire night and Ghanaians are known for throwing good parties. The 1st of July is Ghana republic day so volunteers will have this day off to enjoy dancing and partying with the Locals and of course those amazing kids.

Volunteers will be able to come for the first two weeks of the project, the last two or preferably the whole month. Age requirements are 18+ unless accompanied by an adult.
